Contamination Hits The Theaters Next Month!

Hi Reader,

I’m still catching my breath - because everything is happening so fast.

Just a few weeks ago, I got back from L.A. where we held the world premiere screening of Contamination. It was an incredible trip, but what happened next caught us completely off guard…

Within 24 hours of Landmark Cinemas opening pre-sales for our Canadian theatrical premiere, we sold out two of the three scheduled screenings. And that was before we even started advertising.

Landmark responded by adding three more screenings. And now they’re officially expanding our release to other cities across Canada, starting with my hometown of Calgary, and then heading to Ottawa and Toronto. ❤️

I can’t even begin to describe how surreal and exciting this feels. A movie I wrote and directed in playing on the big screen in multiple cities.

And Landmark has been amazing to work with, and for a chain that size to see this kind of potential in a small indie film? That’s huge.

Since this all kicked off, we’ve been diving headfirst into the world of theatrical distribution. It’s wild.

Here’s just a bit of what we’ve had to learn on the fly:

  • What kind of deliverables theaters expect (hint: it’s a lot)
  • How the timelines and tech work behind-the-scenes
  • Getting a theatrical rating (we’re officially rated 14A, if you’re wondering!)

It’s a real movie now, and we’re doing everything we can to help it reach the audiences who’ll connect with it.

Contamination is a fun, tense, (not-so) little action movie. It’s personal, intense, and character-driven - exactly the kind of 80s-style throwback that doesn’t usually get a shot on the big screen anymore.

That’s why the theatrical premiere matters so much. It’s not just a win for our team - it’s a win for indie film, for genre storytelling, and for everyone who believes small stories can still make a big impact.

So thank you for being here and following along with this journey. Over the coming weeks, I’ll be sharing updates, behind-the-scenes moments, and all the details as the theatrical premiere gets closer.

We feel blessed. We feel hopeful. And we’re just getting started!

Hi Reader, Yesterday, several cast and crew members from Contamination joined forces for something special: the "Stuff the Semi for Veterans in Need" food drive. And by the end of the day, we’d doubled last year’s donations! That’s a massive win - for veterans, their families, and everyone who showed up to help. If you’re new to my newsletter, Contamination is my upcoming feature film - a character-driven action-sci-fi thriller about isolation, survival, and what it means to hold onto your...

Hi Reader, I just got back from Los Angeles, where my feature film Contamination had its world premiere at the Southern California International Film Festival - and wow, what a trip. I was joined by three incredible collaborators: David Heacock, my co-director Preston Ewasiuk, our producer Tyler Sabourin, one of our lead actors Together, we spent three whirlwind nights soaking up every bit of movie magic that LA had to offer. Our screening took place in Glendale, CA, and it was surreal seeing...

Hi Reader, This week is a huge milestone for me - my feature film Contamination is having its world premiere in Los Angeles at the Southern California International Film Festival. To say I’m excited would be an understatement. This project started as an idea in my head - a “what if?” moment - and now it’s about to play in front of a live audience in the heart of the film industry. Hollywood. The place we all imagine when we think of big screens, popcorn, and movie magic. What makes it even...
